As always when Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat rolls into town you know it is going to be one heck of a show. The Metro Theatre was the perfect setting for a night filled with electro bangers. Kicking the night off was none other than Nina Las Vegas who had the opening slot for the evening. Bringing that positive, happy energy to the room NLV would lose herself in the music only to brought back with all-encompassing cheers from the crowd (which was constant). Taking the crowd on a sound bending journey her mixing was on point this evening the transitions between tracks was effortless and executed to perfection. Never a dull moment and one of the better sets I have seen in quite a while.
With the intermission becoming more than the crowd could handle. It was time, Cashmere Cat was in Sydney and on stage. The audience was screaming and chanting and screaming some more the room was primed and ready for whatever was about to be served up. The lighting had gone considerably darker for this set (which really set the mood) no more ambient lighting. But, it worked the whole set the energy was just transfixed into one area and that was on the man himself. As the set rolled on those big drops hit harder and harder which only made the crowd completely lose their shit.
In conjunction with the start of his Australian tour Cashmere dropped a nice little Triple J mix up session. There is three more dates on the tour (check the link above) if you happen to be in one of the cities best to get down to the show and carve up the floor.
