Melbourne garage-rockers Sophisticated Dingo has been taming their frenetic sound since the release of their last single Witch Love almost a year ago, and after having seemingly one too many drinks, have come out with the measured yet infectious song Head Talk. The old-school local sound the duo of drummer James ‘Jimmy’ Medley and singer-guitarist Lewis ‘Lew’ Matte, have crafted on their new single is as drunk sing-along as the track suggests. Starting off with “I’m sorry for what I said/I can’t quite remember it”, it never lets up, building more and more anthemic as it dips in and out of its more subdued moments. Although perhaps not as in-your-face as their previous single, Head Talk succeeds excellently as a heart-pounding, in-your-face track that is as honest as it is catchy. Known for their animalistic shows, the song showcases nothing less and is a gigantic sound for a two-piece looking to make waves in the local scene. And if anything is to be taken from their new release, you sure as hell better watch out; Sophisticated Dingo is coming for you and your booze.

The duo initially began in 2014 as a writing project for James, but quickly formed into its own entity as the couple began their shared love of anthemic garage-rock. Having only released two singles, the band have already played shows with Melbourne locals Fan Girl, Hayden Calnin and Borneo. Their live shows have grown their reputation as performers and garnered quite the following for a group with only two singles. November 2016 saw the release of Witch Love and its accompanying music video that matches the frantic pace of its counterpart.
