Have you ever seen a giant donut on a motorbike? What about a giant beer bottle on a motorbike? Spiderman? A human unicorn? We did see all that in the course of a day, among with various other ridiculously fun looking
antiheroes superheroes, on the misty slopes of the Jaïzkibel. Welcome to the Punk’s Peak Sprint Race, another major highlight of Wheels and Waves.
Those crazy characters on 50cc machines opened the race with La Copita, but as we all know, not all superheroes wear costumes. Some of them just build themselves crazy machines and join the Punk’s Peak race just to fly on the racetrack. Some superheroes are girls and we need to see more of them, like Katja Poensgen, winner of the Superbike category this year with a Young Guns Indian motorbike, kudos girl !
Add this show to the foggy mountainous scenery we had that day and you got yourself one perfect situation for a photo series and a video. Wesley Wilquin was there to capture the moments and faces surrounding us that day and as you may guess, smiles didn’t forget to show up.
If you’re just joining us, this article is part of a series that features the Wheels and Waves sixth edition that took place in Biarritz, France. You can read the previous article about El Rollo Race here, enjoy !
